What is ISO Standard?

An ISO standard serves as a comprehensive document that outlines specific rules, guidelines, or characteristics related to various activities and their outcomes, all with the goal of achieving a high level of order within a particular context. Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), these standards are designed to harmonize practices across diverse industries, thereby promoting quality, safety, and efficiency in products, processes, and services. Among the most recognized ISO standards are ISO 9001, which focuses on Quality Management Systems; ISO 14001, dedicated to Environmental Management Systems; ISO 27001, which addresses Information Security Management Systems; ISO 45001, aimed at Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems; and ISO 22000, which pertains to Food Safety Management Systems. Each of these standards plays a crucial role in helping organizations meet regulatory requirements and enhance their operational effectiveness, ultimately benefiting both businesses and consumers alike.
